These deposits position the landlocked West African nation at the heart of growing geopolitical interest from major powers. As Western nations, alongside rising global players, compete for access to these essential materials, Burkina Faso finds itself navigating a renewed form of resource diplomacy—one that echoes historical patterns of neo-colonial exploitation. Burkina Faso's Transformative Leadership Under Captain Traoré

Captain Ibrahim Traoré: The Transitional Leader Transforming Burkina Faso  -  https://todayafrica.co/captain-ibrahim-traore/ More here: Burkina Faso, a landlocked West African nation, has undergone significant political and social transformation since Captain Ibrahim Traoré rose to power in September 2022. Before his emergence, the country faced persistent instability, including jihadist insurgencies, economic hardship, and political turmoil following the ousting of long-time leader Blaise Compaoré in 2014. The transitional governments that followed struggled to address security threats and widespread dissatisfaction, culminating in Traoré’s takeover after a coup that removed Lt. Col. Comparing Israel to Singapore is a false and dangerous analogy.

Comparing Israel to Singapore is a false and dangerous analogy. Singapore didn’t ethnically cleanse its way into existence or maintain an apartheid system. Israel’s creation involved the violent dispossession of Palestinians. Over 750,000 were expelled, and millions remain under occupation or blockade today. Historical presence doesn’t justify modern-day injustice; otherwise, every ancient empire would have a claim to land. Advocating for Palestinian rights is not a denial of Jewish existence. It’s a call to end oppression. Justice isn’t selective, and self-determination cannot come at the cost of another people’s erasure.

MOT: Driverless Public Buses

Am about to send this email to the Singapore transport ministry. How do you think it will reply? Dear Minister for transport, Re: Driverless public buses in. Singapore: How will this change affect persons in wheelchairs (PIWs) given that bus drivers still have to step off the bus to help these passengers? Without human drivers, who will handle PIWs when they want to get on (and off) the bus? I understand that in London and some US towns, the public transport service is disabled-friendly. Is the Singapore transport service aiming for these standards? In those localities, human help for PIWs remain indispensable. The upshot: How will driverless public buses accommodate people in wheelchairs (PIWs)? Here's a likely response from Singapore's Transport Ministry (LTA/MOT) based on current policies and initiatives mentioned in the search results: Subject: RE: Driverless Public Buses and Accessibility for Wheelchair Users Dear [Your Name], Thank you for your thoughtful question regardi...
